Growing Green Cities
The Growing Green Cities Network started out as a site to support the initiative by the Dutch city of Almere. Recent events however have demonstrated to me that the city council is not of good faith and its stated intentions are nothing but lies. The motivations for this are difficult to guess. The first and for now main project of the Growing Green Cities Network, the Growing Green Cities Greenhouse, is an initiative that certainly falls in line with the stated intentions of the city of Almere. There has however been no single evidence of even the slightest intention to help with the project, in fact there is only an active suppression of it. Read more about it in the “Tyranny or Democracy?” article.
The goal of the .net TLD is to group together a number of resources, each having their own identities but bound together in a common goal. If we want to build a strong web presence that focusses on not only growing green cities but also living in a way that sustains the planet and its resources, we should all get to know each other, know of each other’s problems and challenges and try to help each other.
We would like to become a one-stop entry point for all growing green city initiatives. For this purpose we will invite several guest writers to add articles to this site from their own expertise. This will involve people with architecture skills on growing green cities, people with legal skills on growing green cities, people with technical skills on growing green cities etc.
You can also contribute. Through our contact form you can let us know if you have your own growing green cities initiative. We will review your initiative and add it in the appropriate places on this site. Please do not hesitate to contact us. We aim to have a low treshold, making it very easy for other people to get their initiatives listed on here.
You can now also register on this site. We highly recommend that you do this and become an early bird. It will enable you to votes on issues, add growing green city criteria, add those criteria to your own city and lots and lots more things.
